About this speaker
Ana Paula Oliveira joined the Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime in March 2020. She is currently an analyst managing the Assassination Witness project and a core member of GI-TOC’s multilateral engagement team. Her research at the GI-TOC focus on assassinations, disappearances and other forms of violence in the context of illicit economies. Her research interests also involve the impact of organized crime on human rights and humanitarian law and policy.
Ana Paula holds an LL.M cum laude in International Law by the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva. She also holds an LL.M in Public Law and an MBA in International Relations by Fundação Getúlio Vargas in Rio de Janeiro. Ana Paula holds a Bachelor degree magna cum laude in Legal and Social Sciences by the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She is a qualified lawyer, having practised at a law firm focusing on public law litigation for over four years. Her past experiences also included assisting roles at non-governmental organizations headquartered in Rio de Janeiro and Geneva.
