arms trafficking

Firearms trafficking is a multidimensional problem that includes a broad spectrum of criminal activities ranging from the ilicit manufacturing to the ilict trafficking or smuggling of firearms, their parts and components and ammunition. Most ilicit firearms have a legal origin and, as they are diverted into the ilicit market, become present in most forms of violent conflicts, crimes and other criminal activities. It is often associated with transnational criminal organisations and is widespread, although not limited to unstable regions.
