About this Talk

This panel explores the landscape of organized crime in Ukraine through evidence-based assessments of crucial changes in organized crime, shaped by the Russian war in Ukraine, their transformation in the course of the war, and their impact on regional security. They will also discuss how the war impacts the scale of internal organized crime activity and its types as well as the involvement of Russia as a state in different war crimes that increase the global criminal markets. Next, they will discuss the vulnerability of women in armed conflict areas, particularly human trafficking of women and girls, through a feminist framework. Finally, they look at the governed and ungoverned war zones within Ukraine and Russia vis-à- vis the role of international governmental organizations and their Member States.
