After completing her Master of Public Administration and Policy at the Center for Research and Teaching in Economics in Mexico City, Mexico, with a solid background in quantitative research methods, she entered the policy discussion on firearm trafficking and violence in Mexico, giving presentations, writing articles, and appearing on TV and radio. She was then was hired for her current position at Stanford as a Social Science Research Professional, where she investigates health outcomes of gun violence along with other topics at the intersection of health and public security. She continues to work on her research of illicit markets, particularly firearm markets, and employs a combination of decision analytic and microeconomic-theoretical methods.
