About this speaker

Degree in Biological Sciences, with MSc and PhD in Biology (Genetics) from the University of Sao Paulo. Volunteered and later developed her PhD in collaboration with the US Fish and Wildlife Services National Forensics Laboratory. TED Senior Fellow and Nat Geo Emerging Explorer. Founding member and Executive Director of the Freeland office for South America, based in Brazil, since 2011. Coordinator of counter wildlife trafficking projects, involved in the establishment of SudWEN and member of the steering group of the Global Initiative to End Wildlife Crime (EWC).
