About this speaker

Edgar Federzoni has been dedicating efforts to combat human trafficking for over a decade. He currently serves as a Project Manager at the Anti-Trafficking Programme of the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) in Vienna, Austria. Edgar has partnered with other international organizations and national institutions to implement projects in over 20 countries across diverse regions, such as South America, Europe, West Africa, the Middle East, and Central Asia. His work has encompassed all relevant aspects of trafficking, including research, capacity building, policy formulation, and legal development, right through to their practical implementation. Specifically, he has concentrated on establishing mechanisms to protect both actual victims and those vulnerable to exploitation. This focus has involved constructing institutional support and policy, facilitating the creation of national strategies and action plans, developing standard operating procedures for national and transnational referral mechanisms, and creating practical guidelines to standardize stakeholder practices. Edgar is a Brazilian national and holds a bachelor’s in international relations from the University of the State of Sao Paulo, Brazil, and a master’s in global studies from the University of Leipzig, Germany, and the University of Vienna, Austria.
