Annette Hübschle

Chief research officer, University of Cape Town Dr. Annette Hübschle is a policing scholar specialising in transnational criminal networks and illegal market structures. Her research addresses the challenges of policing these networks and explores community centred responses to combat illegal activities.

About this speaker

Dr Annette Hübschle is a chief research officer in the Global Risk Governance programme (GRGP) at the University of Cape Town. She leads the Environmental and Planetary Futures Research Group at GRG and also acts as a senior fellow to the Global Initiative against Transnational Organised Crime. Her current research focuses on the governance of safety and security with a specific focus on illegal wildlife economies, restorative justice and environmental futures, as well as the interface between licit and illicit economies and criminal networks.
