About this Talk

The regular panel session will examine the threats of ransomware attacks and implications for policy, the application of police hacking as an investigative power and a crimino-psychological analysis of cybercrimes in South Asia. The latter topic aims at reviewing and understanding the major construes of organised cyber crimes in the context of two major contributing fields; psychology and criminology in the South Asian countries of India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. In terms of ransomware attacks, research findings will be presented of a study mapping and quantifying factors that influence ransomware attacks and offering insight into the possibilities for awareness and behavioral change among managers of medium-sized and small organizations, both in the public and private sector.
