Crafting Innovation in Public-Private Partnership against Illicit Economies: The Case of the Triangle Strategy in Colombia and Panama

The discussion session aims to share ideas and experiences on the innovative approach of public-private partnerships in the fight against illicit economies fueled organized crime, its relevance today, particularly in tackling global illicit trade, and the opportunities and challenges of the Triangle Strategy. The Triangle Strategy is a public-private partnership in Latin America to combat illicit trade and dismantle illegal economies. This partnership will foster discussions about public-private partnerships: What are the opportunities? Which are the benefits and challenges? What have been the lessons? These questions will guide speakers into a proactive discussion about the innovative approach that has been done in some alliances, and what is left to be done in the articulation of public- private partnerships. The diversity of speakers’ backgrounds – authorities, academia, and the private sector – will enrich the session with complementary perspectives.
