A Talk by Felia Allum , Carolina Sampó , Romi Sigsworth , Anqi Shen and Teresa Martinez Trujillo

About this Talk

Women's presence in Transnational Security issues has been hardly studied. Women in Organized Crime is still a question mark that must be answered. During this panel, we will share a summary of our research with emphasis on different regions and how women are being involved in different criminal structures such as mafias, cartels and criminal organizations. The questions that guide the debate are: Are women present in criminal structures? Which are the difference among regions and the way women are being involved in Organized Crime? Is it possible to see as a trend an increasing presence of women in Organized Crime worldwide?
