About this Talk
This panel brings together researchers from across the continent to examine the latest findings on organized criminal groups, actors, and trends in Africa. A variety of topics will be addressed, such as the expansion of local criminal networks into human trafficking operations in East Africa, the role of local gangs in providing political goods to communities in South Africa, the devastating environmental impact of sand trafficking in Morocco, the role of corruption in facilitating organized crime in Kenya, as well as the impact of corporate governance in reporting human rights violations in energy firms across Asia and Africa.
