About this talk
This session takes a show and tell approach to outline how to investigate and prosecute waste trafficking cases. Participants take on the role of investigators and have to solve an actual case of transnational waste trafficking. The audience will first receive a briefing on the topic before they are introduced to the specific case. The case starts from its detection by frontline level officers and, as the session progresses, more insights about the case become known to the audience, while relevant legislative considerations are also highlighted in connection with UNODC legislative guide on waste trafficking.
