Unpacking cybercrime
A Talk by Claire van den Eeden , Anita Lavorgna , Nguyen Van Trong and Veronika Nagy
About this Talk
In this session, Claire van den Eeden will present the results of her study on investigating, prosecuting and obstructing cybercrime, aimed at gaining more insight into the approach by the police and the Public Prosecution Service to address complex types of (organised) cybercrime. After this intervention, Anita Lavorgna will deliver a presentation on the topic of the cyber-organised crime nexus: empirical, legal and theoretical problems, which provides an overview of why it is important to remain critical in pairing “cyber” and “organised crime” in research and policymaking alike. The session will conclude with a presentation by Nguyen Van Trong, about the global fight against cybercrime and the response from Vietnam, which contributes to the existing knowledge of counter-cybercrime strategies against cybercrime worldwide.
