Governance and redistribution of criminal assets
A Talk by Ariadna H. Ochnio Ph.D. , Fabrizio Consentino and Ludovica Ioppolo
About this Talk
This talk covers two topics. The first concerns certain aspects of the Polish system of redistribution of recovered assets (“Redistribution of assets recovered from organized crime. An example of Poland”). The second deals with some aspects of the re-use mechanism adopted in the Italian system (“How are the organized crime’s confiscated real estate assets re-allocated and reused? The case study of the Municipality of Palermo”). The first presentation discusses the Polish mechanism of social re-use of recovered assets, which is a traditional model under development, and tries to find theoretical justification for the desired directions of its development. In contrast, the second deals with an advanced modern mechanism developed in Italy and discusses it in statistical terms with the use of a case study.
