Verena Mayer is a correspondent for Süddeutsche Zeitung based in Berlin. She covers local politics, social issues, culture and organized crime in Germany’s capital. Before joining Süddeutsche Zeitung she was a reporter for Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and Der Tagesspiegel. She won several journalistic awards.
