About this speaker
I am a Ph.D. candidate with a decade of expertise in urban planning, geospatial intelligence, and public safety policy. My work focuses on using spatial data analysis to support evidence-based decision-making in public administration. I specialize in applying Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to analyze complex urban challenges, from sustainable urban density to transit safety and crime mapping.
I’ve contributed to diverse projects, including evaluating the PROVIAS Program’s impact on traffic safety in Minas Gerais, analyzing violence in educational institutions for alignment with SDGs, and exploring the intersections of religion and public security in Brazil. My academic background includes extensive interdisciplinary research, incorporating political ecology, racial relations, and territorial dynamics, particularly with vulnerable populations like the homeless in Belo Horizonte.
Beyond academia, I provide consultancy services in spatial data analysis, training professionals and institutions to harness spatial intelligence for better policy outcomes.
