Omolara is the Head, Policy Influencing and Advocacy Unit at the West Africa Civil Society Institute (WACSI). She is a seasoned peace and security practitioner, civil society specialist, and advocacy strategist with over fifteen years of experience in development programming targeted at strengthening the civil society ecosystem in Sub-Saharan Africa. Omolara offers strategic direction to the institute’s ambitions to connect groups of organized and organic civil society actors in thoughts and actions; and influence regional and global policy discourses around human security, good governance, democracy, human rights, and sustainable development. She is an ardent advocate for a people-centered regional integration agenda, civil society sustainability, and open civic space. Omolara has an academic background in history and international relations, peace and conflict studies, and public policy. She is an alumnus of Harvard Kennedy School, Executive Education.
