About this speaker
Co-founder and senior researcher at the São Paulo-based Centre for the Study of Liberty and Authoritarianism - LAUT. Holds a PhD in Criminal Law from the University of São Paulo and is a regular contributor to international drug policy and criminal justice forums and research centres. He was Secretary for Drug Policy at the Ministry of Justice of Brazil, where he coordinated the Brazilian position for the UNGASS 2016. Recently, he was an associate researcher at the Center for International Drug Policy at the London School of Economics (LSE) and drug policy coordinator at the Brazilian Institute for Criminal Sciences.
