About this speaker

At the Inserm, Laurie works with Marie Jauffret-Roustide on studies inquiring about the impact of drug criminalization, about gendered perspectives on drug use, rural drug use, youth well-being, as well as on projects mapping out local open drug scenes in different cities. In the past, Laurie has worked on the analysis of a variety of social indicators to help inform social policy at the local, national and international levels.

While studying for a multidisciplinary MSc with a focus on inequalities from the LSE (UK) and a master's in sociology from the EHESS (Fr), Laurie has completed her master's thesis research on middle-class drug dealers and retains an interest in the drug market and the people who take part in small-scale drug trafficking. She is also a professional translator who translates from English and German to French.
