About this speaker

Juan Camilo Cock Misas has worked for more than fifteen years with excluded and vulnerable populations in civil society and public sector roles in Colombia and the UK, especially on issues of social and economic inclusion and violence reduction. He is currently the Executive Director of Fundación Alvaralice, an NGO based in Cali working to promote peace and improve opportunities for young people. From 2016 to 2019 he served as Undersecretary for Territories of Inclusion and Opportunities at the Mayor´s office in Cali where he led the city´s strategy to address poverty and violence in precarious neighborhoods. Juan Camilo also worked for ten years at the Migrants Rights Network in London developing partnerships and campaigns for the rights of migrants and refugees. He holds a master’s degree in Anthropology of Development and Social Transformation from the University of Sussex and a PhD in Human Geography from Queen Mary University of London.
