Francesca Frisone is Research Fellow in Contemporary History at the Department of Political and Judicial Sciences of the University of Messina with a project entitled "Engaged Citizens. Public-Private partnerships and hybrid practices of shared monopoly on violence in Italy, 1861-1926". Her research interests are on emergency legislation in Liberal Italy, freedom of association, emigration, women, domestic violence and deviance in early 20th century Southern Italy.
