Emily Kenway is currently a PhD scholar in political science at Edinburgh University focusing on exploitation. Prior to this, she was the private sector adviser to the UK's first Independent Anti Slavery Commissioner, senior policy adviser to the NGO, Focus on Labour Exploitation, and held a range of other roles at other organisations. She is on the boards of the think-tank Commonwealth and the Public Interest Research Centre. Her first book, The Truth about Modern Slavery, was published in January 2021 and described as a 'powerful treatise' by the Guardian. She is currently working on her second book.
