About this speaker
Emilia Ziosi is a Research Assistant at the Department of Sociology, University of Oxford. She recently completed her PhD in Studies on Organized Crime at the University of Milan and was a Visiting PhD Student at the Centre for Latin American and Caribbean Studies (CLACS), University of London, from February 2021 to June 2022. Her doctoral research explores the relationships that different actors, among which criminal groups, establish with the territory in Honduras in the context of a liberal market democracy. Her research interests include the relations between organised crime, the state and civil society, as well as the interconnections between legal and illegal governance. Emilia also holds a BSc in Economics and Management from the University of Trento, Italy, and an MSc in Organised Crime, Terrorism and Security from the University of Essex, UK.
