About this speaker
I have joined the Global Initiative against Transnational Organized Crime in January 2022 and I am currently part of the team dedicated to the development of the Global Organized Crime Index. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and a Master’s Degree in International Relations from Luiss University, in Rome. During my Master, I spent a six-month period at the Radboud University of Nijmegen, in the Netherlands. Before graduating, I also worked for three months at the Italian Embassy in Morocco.
Prior to joining the Global Initiative, I worked for almost three years as a research analyst in the field of international security and violent extremism. I co-authored the publication of a book on the evolution of terrorism in the African continent, with a focus on the Horn of Africa. For two years, I have been assistant professor of Political Sociology. My main areas of interest include security issues, terrorism and violent extremism in particular, and their links with organized crime and illicit economies.
