Charlotte is a provenance researcher and PhD candidate at the University of Western Australia, investigating the cultural laundering of illegally and unethically salvaged underwater cultural heritage. Her research looks at the process by which such objects are legitimised through their physical and symbolic circulation across the art market, museums and academia, popular culture, and international politics.
Charlotte received a BA in Anthropology and Southeast Asian Studies from the University of California Berkeley and a Masters of Maritime Archaeology from Flinders University.
