About this speaker
Alexandre currently works as an Associate Expert in Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice in the Human Trafficking and Migrant Smuggling Section of UNODC to support the development of policy, knowledge and innovation practices in the area of Trafficking in Persons and Smuggling of Migrants. Prior to this, Alexandre worked in IOM regional office for Middle East and North Africa in the Immigration and Border Management division to support States in enhancing concerted border management notably in the area of migrant smuggling and Search and Rescue while ensuring the respect of international principles. In IOM, he started working as a Regional Liaison and Policy Assistant and contributed to the dissemination of IOM policies and positions within the region, where he focused on supporting IOM's engagement with the UN Network on migration at national and regional level and helped in the organization of the first regional review conference of the Global Compact for Migration in the Arab region. He holds a Bachelor and Master of Law as well as a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Legal Professions from the University of Geneva and completed one year of his Master Program at the Humboldt University of Berlin, Germany.
